Most OBDII checkers are not designed to expect too many errors at one time. OBDII communications bus is too slow. When this occurs the OBD checker gets confused and therefore reports more errors.
When I repaired/replaced my FEM module a bunch of errors dealing with the REM and center mounted tail light went away.
There are pleasant surprises after all.

Fredrik,
You are probably doing this. But for the benefit of others, always clear all OBDII codes every time you begin a new OBDII test.
