  • Help with Blower Motor Control

I'm trying to location the Blower Motor Speed Control (resistor/control module) along with instructions of how to replace it on my 2003 Thunderbird. All I know is it's on the passenger side behind the glove box. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I hope this helps, Jack. Welcome to TBN. For some reason my PDFs don't work on this site any longer, so I have had to use JPGs in Word. The next page will follow this post. blower motor 3.jpgblower motor 3.jpg

Looks like you have to take out the dashboard, then it close to the heater core which is behind the glove box. Not for the faint of heart, but doable with enough time.

I took out the dashboard once on a 1981 Fairmont. Put it all back; problem still persisted. Took it out again, put it back (carefully) and the problem was fixed.

I swore never to do it again, especially since I did it solo.

I happened to talk with my local mechanic about an issue with my daughter's 2008 Mustang. Needs a blend door actuator. We've decided to dump the car, even though it's not a really big job on a Mustang.

He happened to be doing a similar blend door job on a Crown Vic. Estimated 5.4 hours labor to remove the dash.

Doesn't surprise me that you have to remove the dashboard. Just had that done on our 2002 Taurus. Quite an operation to replace the blower motor...good luck! May the TBird force be with you .
