I was surprised to find that the Pontiac Solstice GXP tubo 2.4 L would go 0-60 in 5.5 sec, and do ¼ mile in 13.5 sec. Now I'm not having regrets in any way. I love my bird. But I never in a million years would have thought those cars could be fast... Impressive.

I had an 07 Saturn Sky Redine last Summer for awhile. 2.0 Turbo and 391 gears developing 15 psi boost. Way under rated HP of 260. With a good tune the car can easily develop 20+ lbs of boost and HP is actually about 310. Car can easily run bottom 13's and 5 sec 0-60's.
Mujiir: The 2.4L is the non Turbo and it's just another 4 cyl. The 2.0 is the Turbo motor.

I sold a Solstice to buy my 2002 T-bird. I owned the Solstice for 3 months....long enough to develop a real dislike for it. No spare tire, no jack, no luggage space in the trunk, no room in the cabin, can't see behind you. Neat looking car....but horribly uncomfortable and totally impractical.

While my Tbird was in the body shop after my Deer incident in Georgia, I had a 2018 Mustang 2.3 Turbo Convertible to use and abuse. It had the 9 speed automatic which was really nice. I remember when a 4 speed was the greatest, now it's old and obsolete. That Mustang was like a Noisy Tesla S when I put my foot down from a standing start. Sugar Daddy had one a while back and he thought it was amazingly fast too. The combination of Turbocharging and 9 speed automatics make these little (2.3 liter) 4 cylinder cars act like big V8s. I just don't like the sounds they make, sorry.sigpic

Great input! Thanks y'all. My friend is 67 years young... but I will tell him your recommendations. I got tired of trying to clime up out of the hole that was my "sports car". I loved it at first, but I needed a kidney belt to ride in it any distance. It was like driving a skate board.
