        Actually, did this in my friend David’s handsome Merlot. Headed out to the North Texas Mustang Club’s Yellow Rose Classic where I met the gracious Dot for the first time in person and got an up-close look at her rare and gorgeous Inca Gold, plus several other stunning baby birds and a striking black 02 with a red accent interior. Great time!

              Speaking of the Yellow Rose Classic this last weekend. enjoyed the talks with both Newman And with Duane.

              My results of the show, Winner in the Late model Thunderbirds category. There were only 2 of us showing in that category. Impressive looking trophy this year since they (North Texas Mustang Club) were celebrating their 30th year of hosting the Yellow Rose Classic, an all Ford show. Even showed our willow green 57 in the background picture on it. I was nervous about the black one with the red interior beating me out as his black looked great. It's owned by a Jim and Jan Young from the North Texas Vintage Thunderbird Club. I was showing with the Big D Little Birds to fill up a slot. The Big D Club also won Best Club Display which also meant a cash award to the club.

              Had another story though, I accidently left the keys in the car in the on position while doing the set up last Friday and drained the battery. It was 14 years old so George said I had to get a new one as he wasn't going to trust it at that age since it had been drained. He spent Monday afternoon letting the dealership take care of that (cost a little more and he had to train them how to remove the battery! At least he was able to get the labor charge removed, lol, also told them they'd have to reprogram the windows (they didn't know how to do that either). He let that slide & programmed it himself, since they took off the labor charge to replace the battery. It really helped that the car had been cleaned up for the show so they had to take special care of it. Still had to wipe hand prints off the fenders but other than that they took good care of it.

                Congrats on your trophy, Dot. You got a lot of life from the original battery. Hard to believe that the dealer didn’t know how to change the battery. I (not a mechanic) changed mine with no directions or guidance. I found it to be quite easy. Makes you wonder about the quality of their service people.

                  Their initial problem with removing the battery was that they didn't know they needed to remove the spare tire. Makes it a whole lot easier then.

                      Had a chuckle this morning. Took the 007 to pick up a few groceries. As I pull into my parking spot, an older lady pulled in next to me with a Jaguar S-type. When I get out she just gushed about how she loved my car. Then she proceeded to tell me that her first boyfriend had one and that was the reason why she dated him.

                        Got Ol' Thor vacced & Buffed up for the next-to-last Denny's cruise-in of the year. Tonite will be the debut of the hard tonneau. Yes, it fits in the trunk...if you take it apart...just. But, room for 2 bag chairs & Susan's stuff! (no small feat!)

                          Had a nice, but warm night at Denny's. Won a hat and Free Grand Slam in the door prize drawing! Saw Dave with his sweet '56 Victoria. He is the fellow that had the '02 Deluxe with 5,500 miles on it that he wanted 25K for...and he got it! Met the new owner as well. He said,"Mine did not have a hard tonneau cover. Was it supposed to?" Told him about Kaminari, but he knew them from Mustang mod's.

                              it's only october but its cooling off fast so I took 10 mins out of my life to put the hard top back on
