Frank if you can get a helper to temporarily hold the driver's door arm rest with the window switches,plug it back together & raise the windows.

Everything assembled and reinstalled -- new actuators/sensor switches and all electrical connectors sprayed with contact cleaner and latches lubed vigorously. The dinging started again - I know its the driver's door because the window will do that courtesy "drop" when the alert sounds as if the door was open with the top up.
However, the more I drove it - 5 or 6 miles so far -- the less the alerts sounded. So maybe the lube worked down into the latch or the new switches are breaking in. We'll see... A very aggravating problem..

Well the issue is mysteriously solved...
I charged the battery completely last night after popping off the driver's side kick panel and wiggling connectors on the FEM...
This morning I read where another person did the windows calibration procedure and cycled the top up and down and disconnected and reconnected the battery. I don't know which of the three things made the door ajar alert begin to act normally but I'm leaning towards the window calibration...
I'll drive the car today and see if the fix (whatever it was) holds up...
