I had the same problem, but replacing the control valve worked.

Off topic (sorry), I was just reading about problems T-Birds (2002-05) are having with airbags malfunctions. Some owners complained that in an accident, the airbags didn't work, and others reported that the sensor light lit-up on the dashboard and that Ford does not make this part anymore. Is there a thread on this? I couldn't find it. Has anyone else heard of this or is aware of it?

Limited choices here in Alexandria, Mn. I know the dealer, work with them and get work from them. I get my parts at a discount. And I trust the mechanic. He did his due diligence and checked back and forth with Ford service tech for weeks. I agree that is spendy but so is my time. I would waste days trying to check somewhere else, plus the gas and mileage.Even if I did it myself It would still cost about the same in time and effort.

Third time in for them to trouble shoot. I may have used the A/C less than 20 hours total over 14 years. It is just like not driving a car. Seals get hard and brittle. My own fault really for never using it. I bet I have less than 1,000 miles with a top on or up.
