E Code Displaced in 2003 Thunderbird

I just purchased a 2003 Bird with 9,000 miles. It is displaying an E Code where the D5 starts out when I drive. I Googled that issue and it looks common. What should I do?

Welcome, Bob. Some 2003s manufactured in a certain time period did have a problem. Mine showed up within a thousand miles when new. I needed a new valve body for the transmission. There may also be other causes. Take your car in for a check by the dealer or knowledgeable transmission shop.
