We're lighter. We're faster. If that don't work, we're nastier.
    We're gonna make history.

Wow Newman, ya know I think your car is magnificent. Daughter is a beauty. Her momma must be gorgeous to overcome your genes and have such a beautiful girl.

Better image of Dangerous Daughter. She is a source of great pride. 3.96 grade average while working toward law school. Attorneys in Highland Park say they will write letters of recommendation that will get her admitted wherever she wants to go.

Gene, hat is a beat-up Stetson from the Byer-Rolnick (now Resistol/Stetson) factory outlet store in Garland TX not far from where TBear Dave lives. A real deal cowboy hat factory. Carroll Shelby got his hats there.

My hat started life as a "Cattle Baron" crease. There are MANY different folds/creases. Be creative.

Newman Like you I have a beautiful daughter that had a 3.96 average before law school. I like to say we both got a "B" in college. She cried when she got hers while my daddy on the other hand wanted to kill the fatted calf when I got mine!

Hope she likes being a lawyer better than my baby. Yes sir buddy you have a lot to be proud of.

You’re not kidding. So many decisions. Quality 100X, 50X, 20X, etc. What the heck is that?

The X's are a loose indication of the quality of the material the hat is made from. More X's are supposed to indicate a better quality hat.
On felt hats it's an indication of how much wild fur in the felt material, how thick the felt is etc. The X's are often called "beavers" (ie. beaver fur).
Straw hats have X's too that indicate the quality of the straw, the origin country of the straw, how the straw has been processed etc. Panama is the source for some of the best straw.
Many hat makers use X's as simply marketing tools to sell insanely expensive hats, and the X's have lost a lot of credibility as a result. You will see 50X, 200X, 1000X and there is no real justification except as advertising. I have both a XXXX black felt like Kevin Kline wore in the movie "Silverado" and a 15X Texas Ranger style silverbelly felt and frankly there is no difference in quality I can tell.

I should look so good. ETA flat-top hats are worn by girls... Charley 1 Horse makes the best girls hats.
