For car buffs (and those that like some other unique old stuff), you absolutely have to visit the Nethercutt collection in Sylmar. They have some of the rarest, most highly prized cars you'll see anywhere. Tours through the original facility require reservations, the newer museum building across the street does not. Both are free.

You can go to their website for more info (https://www.nethercuttcollection.org)

Pacific Coast Highway between Los Angeles and San Francisco has MANY great places to visit/stay. One place that I always plan to spend at least one night is Ragged Point Inn just a few miles north of San Simeon. One of those places that mere photographs alone do not capture. I love that place.

We're lighter. We're faster. If that don't work, we're nastier.
        We're gonna make history.

I remember passing that place on my way to Carmel-by-the-Sea. Stopped for lunch at a restaurant that sometimes has Whale watching. Didn't see any whales and just for fun asked the waitress when the whales are going to show up. She smiled a little (very little) and said they are not very cooperative. They do show up but usually when there are no customers to see them!

Thanks for posting this. I may need to drive HW-1 one more time.
Footage may have been taken by using a drone. Fun to watch.

Ten years ago I made the trip along Pacific Coast Highway with a friend in my first Tbird "Annie", an '05 EB. This time I did it with my wife in a 2018 Rental Impala. Didn't see as much and had three locations where the road was a single lane and workers holding up each direction for about 15 minutes, because of repair due to rock slides. I don't know how much longer Highway Number One is going to be around. The cost to make it safe from rockslides as they have done in the Swiss Alps is almost prohibitive. Highway 101 is not nearly as scenic but takes less than 1/2 the time to go the same distance north.
