It went to our wholesale lot since it's too old. Looks in great shape. What do you think they gave the owner for it? What would be a fair price? I was really surprised they offered this much.

Carmax doesn't play those games of giving a higher trade in for a car with high margin that I know of. They offer a set price and that's that. If they offered 13k do you think there would be any room for someone to buy it and resell it?

The set price is true, the game comes with the trade, if there is one, they all do it, even CM. Re: could someone make money if they bought it for $13K. I suppose they could to a buyer that had to have it and didn't do a lot of research. Just another example of how mileage is the driver on these cars. At 70K miles that a $9K car but to a lot of people the higher the mileage the better. This link has retros in it all with mileage in the 30's and 40's and all under a starting price between $12 and $15K

It finally sold to a salesman. The shop did a mandatory inspection so I saw it underneath. It has some Magnaflow mufflers welded in place (nice low tone) and orginal tires with 3-4/32 tread with 40k on them!!! Only bad item was the front bumper had a crack on the bottom.
