  • Two Thunderbirds at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Two Thunderbirds this year at Goodwood in England for the Revival. One of the 1957 Battlebirds and a 1959 NASCAR Thunderbird no doubt equipped with the 430 cu in engine.

ETA: In 2017 the 1959 NASCAR Thunderbird was driven in the same event by nine-time Le Mans winner Dane Tom Kristensen who decimated the field passing cars EVERYWHERE on the track until the car's tailpipe came loose and course marshals black-flagged him.

Noticed the same car this year had a front brake-cooling duct come loose but the car nevertheless won its race.

We're lighter. We're faster. If that don't work, we're nastier.
    We're gonna make history.

Here's what John Kaase did with one of these MEL engines in a competition. Made something like 769 hp. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/phot...ng-mel-engine/ Absolutely loved the videos posted!
