  • Soft top repair

The top on our PCR is in good shape for its age and the car has always been garaged ( at least since we've owned) but the thread is deteriorating around the binding on the edge around the back glass. The material on the top is in pretty good shape with very little shrinkage. Has anyone had any repair work on a top dome short of replacing the top?

The only way you could repair the thread would be to hand sew it or glue it. A photo might help.

I agree with Pete, get yourself two good curved needles and a spool of 6-8 mm thread and start saddle stitching.

Does anyone know if the PCR ash colored soft tops are still available? Replacement might be the best solution if the top can be found. I might consider one for my bird.
