I think you mean the Duel Coolant Control Valve, Motorcraft part number YG-378. This is common cause of a/c problems with our birds. I bought my OEM replacement part on Amazon for $80.00.

Yep , that’s what I meant. Going to start hunting one down today.

It's pretty easy to change out. The hardest part is removing the heater hoses from the valve. Just one bolt holds the valve on the fan shroud. I remove the top radiator hose, then it is fairy easy to get to it. You will need a long extension to easily reach the bolt.

I looked at it and hopefully coolant won't be everywhere when I'm done, lol. Ordered a DCCV from amazon $48.15, aftermarket brand. thanks for the heads up

there were two codes present: B1265 and B2798 any idea what they point to? besides the DCCV

B1265 points to a door actuator problem. B2798 points to the DCCV valve. Replacing the valve should cure your problems I expect. Good Luck! I didn't drain the coolant before I started. Just put a pan under the car. I didn't lose too much.

Interesting conversation. I’m replacing my dccv as soon as the hose clamp tool I ordered gets here. I like the idea of not draining the radiator as long as the mess doesn’t get too messy!

Just finished up replacing DCCV, not as messy as I thought it would be. Will take merlot out for a spin tomorrow and see what’s up. AC felt cold and blowing out all vents.

I might be having the same problem. A couple of days ago my a/c was not blowing cold air. The very next day the air was frigid. Following posts about dual coolant control valve. The Motorcraft part number being referenced in the post does NOT match the part number (18495) that is in my 2005 Ford workshop manual.

The DCCV I purchased from amazon was identical to the old one. 45 bucks plus tax , free shipping.
