  • Spray chrome

Has anyone ever used spray chrome or had anything sprayed using this stuff? I know a paint & body guy that says he can spray my hood scoop bezel and it will look just like it was plated. He showed me some pieces that he has done and they looked pretty darn good. I'm not a fan of the stick on stuff, but i really want the chrome bezel. Thanks. Mel

We were looking to do spray on chrome on center caps after having my 16 spoke wheels chromed. Results were terrible. Just sayin !!!!!

I have tried this in the past but it just doesn't look like chrome.

Jay Leno had a video demo of it and it actually looked pretty good, but stuff always does in the demos..

Mel....If you liked the pieces he showed you then what's the hold up? I agree with Spence and Bill, I have never seen any spray chrome that looked any better than silver paint, even when the cap looks like chrome. This guy may have a good process though, that's why I asked about the price. Next time you are in a big box store that carries spray paint look at the ones with a chrome cap. Half of them have silver spray paint on them where people have tested for themselves.

I appreciate all the replies. It's been about 3 months since i talked to this guy. I've been out of action for about 2 yrs due to health issue. So i tried contacting him yesterday he is no longer around. I guess i will just put that aside for now. Thanks again for your comments.

There’s a place in NJ that chromes plastic. Heard about it some time ago. I think I would go that route before painting. I change my hood scoop back in 2006 with a chrome one. Guess they don’t make them anymore.
