My '02 Bird has been overheating for a week now and all the cooling parts were replaced with Motorcraft parts last year. My longtime mechanic told me today that the car needs the hydraulic fan actuator replaced (Motorcraft part #XW4Z3783CA). The same part fits the 2001-2002 Lincoln LS. The problem is the part is discontinued and not available anywhere I have looked. Has anyone had the same problem and does anyone know if there is an aftermarket version available.
