It's an example of the erosion of the concept of property, and of the selfie craze, which in effect his poses are. I don't think/hope it's a case of not caring, it's more one of simply not thinking about it. This is not to excuse his thoughtlessness -or stupidity of creating a visual record, it was adolescent and it cost him a job. Fortunately, not everyone is like that.

He knew he was breaking the rules by his statements. Doubt that he learned anything from it.
It will end up making many owners, not just those in the show (it was an auto show) very wary about leaving their cars in extended car shows (overnighters) without guards present.
