  • Battery Hot Lead?

In the middle of a discussion on another board. First, we dismissed that there were jumper posts under the hood. Then we were told there was a jumper post under the passenger side dash. Now the jumper description has been changed to a hot wire attachment that can be used to charge the battery. I've never heard such a thing and have looked once and did not see anything. Can any of the more knowledgeable people out there confirm? Thanks!

It exists, it's a bolt and nut at the bottom of the firewall, since it connects to the battery I'm assuming you could charge the battery, would seem to be a very silly location to jump the car given the difficulty in getting to it. I assumed it exists to get power from the battery to the front of the car

The OM tells you to jump start by connecting in the trunk. Turn the heater motor on and turn off all accessories. Positive cable goes to positive battery terminal and ground to the spare tire hold down rod.

I'm pretty much aware of all that and I've read the manual. Just having a friendly "discussion" with someone. Thanks, all.

When I first saw it I did think it looked like a jumping point
