We're lighter. We're faster. If that don't work, we're nastier.
    We're gonna make history.

Watched the video and it wouldn't be too hard to take a 1963 Thunderbird to Kindig design in Salt Lake City and have it made. It just looks like a 1963 "Bitchin" version of the basic Tbird coupe. Kindig did something similar to a 58 Continental Mark III convertible on one of his shows.

Interesting video. Rocket Bird is my favorite T-Bird body style, of course I like the original better.

Really disliked the mail slot front end, should have left the wheels chrome.

That YouTube video isn't of much value. However, those who think there was merit to it will like this.

One concept Ford did that I had hoped would somehow materialize into production was the Ford 49 Concept done in 2001. I thought it was a really sharp looking 2 door coupe. Something that is definitely missing today as there are very few choices except for boy racers (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger).

I see some retro bird in the 49 Concept. Not surprising since J. Mays was involved. Hemmings points to the Tbird as being partly to blame for it not reaching production.

Like the Thunderbird, price would have been the determining factor in terms of sales volume had they produced this car. The 02-05 Thunderbirds were significantly priced above the previous generation and over Ford's own target of the low $30,000 range when it was first unveiled as a concept. I liked the Thunderbird. Heck I have two. But price was a big factor back when these things were new.
