I fixed my none working dash lights on my 2002 Bird. With the help of Hermann and Volker, they provided me with the guidance I needed to do the internal FEM repair that allows the dash lights to again work as normal, all but the dimming feature. I never reduced the brightness, so this is a none issue for me. Hermann provided really great guidance for me to get this done. The hardest part is removing the FEM from its position only because of the location. So if anyone has a dash light problem in the FEM I will be able to help you get your unit operational. Just let me know how you would like me to help. A public thanks goes out to Hermann and Volker for their help.
Decided you'd also like to see that 'Vette's wrap.
What year Vette is that?

darn, rather current as I recall but it's been a few weeks and I don't recall Corvette details.
Does a picture from the rear help? IMG_1054_corvette.JPG

Reason: adding picture
Well, a few weeks ago, George spent a day or two getting the Inca ready for an outdoor car show. I think I helped a little bit. oh yes, vacuumed floor mats. Anyway, today got the Inca out to go to the gym (I swim) but it was misting so decided that the 02Blue needed a natural wash job so took it. Got there, swam, then back out to the tbird. Noticed that the left front tire looked rather squishy. Drove to Discount Tire and ended up putting air in all 4 tires as there were Only 23# in one tire, 22 lbs in the two rears and 24 in the right front. oh, yeah. All the weather did was mist on the car so it still needs a wash.

This picture helps a lot.
I did not recognize it as a Corvette since I could not make out the front louvers in the picture.
There is no way mistaking it when you see the rear of the VET.

The number of miles driven today with the top down.
The number of months that have passed since I last drove without the hardtop on.
The number of anniversary years celebrated today since I drove mine home from the dealer.
Thought I would add that as soon as I parked in the garage I heard a pop, followed by hissing & steam, followed by antifreeze on the floor. All that thanks to a blown-out thermostat housing I think. Will be flat-bedded for service soon and then hopefully many more miles added to the 160,000 on it already. IMG_4015.jpgIMG_4017.jpg

Please note, this great functional workaround for the instrument panel light fix needs to be credited to Volker alone.
I will take a litle credit as a tech interpreter/assistant (and pointing out the the entire Volker solution may be done externally to the FEM).
