  • Feel sorry for you guys putting your cars into hibernation.

It was a beautiful day for a top down drive on the Talimena Scenic Byway in southeastern Oklahoma. Six members of the Sooner Thunderbird Car Club and four members of the North Texas Vintage Thunderbird Club joined together in our 5 retrobirds for a fall foliage tour. Unfortunately, the colors weren't the greatest due to this year's drought and bright sunshine, but with the car's dash showing a maximum of 80° on a November afternoon, we really didn't care. A fun car, a good road, good friends, good weather and good food make for just about a perfect day. After lunch and a photo op at Queen Wilhemena Lodge and State Park near Mena, AR we began our journeys home with three cars heading northwest and the other two pointed southwest to Texas.

It's really great to see folks actually enjoying their prize Thunderbirds. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one.
Keep up the good drives and photos!!

      • Installed new black tinted LED side marker lights. Man, these would look really good on a black Bird! Yes, I know, we need pic's!!

        Soon, soon.

        • Reinstalled my recently rebuilt FEM and went for a little ride. Everything works great and I got several thumbs up.

          • Today I'm taking Roxy out for a nice touch-free wash job. She's not dirty but I want her Tan Convertible top to be cleaner for her once weekly joy ride.

            • Today Black Beauty got a facelift on her OEM car cover. The license window was bad and Angelo redid ALL the stitching! $40 well spent

I need to do the same. Would you post instructions how to do it (esp. how to remove the panel without damaging it). Thanks!

                • I am most likely going to sell my 2003 Desert Sky Blue T-Bird soon. I hate to part with it as it has just over 23,000 miles on it and has never been in an accident so the body is perfect. Paint has just a few little scratches here and there from other cars when parked. I am the second owner and bought here in CA in 2008 or 2009. It has always been garaged. Has the hard top and rack. I have never had it off; original owner was going to collect it and he drove it a little as a convertible sometimes. I have the rack for the top.

What do you think I could ask for it here in CA? Thanks in advance for any help in this area!

                        • Pull the bird out of storage this morning, now for a good cleaning and then pack it up to head out to Thunderwine in a couple of days.

                          • Spring has arrived in the great white north, so I pulled the hard top off today in hopes of some top down motoring this weekend!

I would do that but it’s going to rain all weekend.
