Greg, you've got miles and years of enjoyment left in yours. We did an 800+ mile trip over the last two days without a hiccup. Averaged 22+mpg driving 75-80mph most of the way. Not bad for an almost 22 year old car that was rated at 23mpg at 55mph from the factory. That "Jaguar" engine that was built in Ohio doesn't leak or burn a drop of the Motorcraft 5-20 semisynthetiic oil like came in it. But to hear all the internet experts talk, you'd think Ford made a huge mistake using the 3.9 in our cars. I can't, don't and won't ever complain about it.21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

Cleaned the windows and put my luggage in the trunk, 7:00 am start down I-75 tomorrow. Lexington/Knoxville or somewhere in between will be my goal for the day, then arrive Sunday to Dahlonega Georgia.

Around 4 AM, I logged in at AAA and requested battery service which typically has a 3-hour wait time so I was shocked when my 2nd text message was from the technician saying he'd be arriving at 4:45 AM. By 5:30 AM, I was at the car wash to rinse off the garage dust. When I got home, I went back to sleep for 2 hours!
I can't believe it's been 11 years since my purchase and currently have 10,866 miles. Perhaps 2023 will be the year I finally break 11K.

May 12th.... celebrated the 20th anniversary of driving it home. My part-time driver now has 170,000 miles in a big part due to TBN. Thank you!

Took the 'bird to the doctor today. I've been having a problem with a parasitic draw in the electrical system somewhere. Can't seem to find it on my ownsome, so it has gone to the auto-electric shop for a few days. Hopefully the right wizard there can exorcize the demon.

The local glass guy who replaced my windshield a while back just installed new 'chrome' reveal moldings around the windshield for me. The side moldings have finally failed enough that I went for a new full set. They must attach using an 11/32" deep socket because I found one on the floor of the car when I got home.Last edited by Flying Past; May 30, 2023, 08:47 PM.2002 Whisper White, Black Accent, Daily Driver
