Fredrik, it is a Pioneer AVH-2550nex.
I did the paint on the bezel to match my car, but I had to have the unit installed for me, because I don't have the skills for that.
I picked the AVH-2550nex in part because it is the same as the one we put in my wife's truck a few years ago when her factory unit was failing.
Pioneer has newer models without the CD/DVD slot, but I think the user interface is still pretty much the same.
The shop installed a Rydeen CM-LIP4 backup camera, just above the license plate.
They installed a unit behind the dash to interface with the steering wheel controls, but I'm not sure what brand they used.
The microphone for bluetooth phone is installed up near the mirror. Seems to work fine, though I haven't had a chance to try it with the top down.
There is a two slot USB plug where the old round covered power plug used to be.
One slot is for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay to the back of the unit, the other is set up as a charging slot only.
I haven't made any changes to the stock speakers. The tech said he had a bit of trouble with the subwoofer, but it is working fine.

New one is Pioneer with bluetooth, backup camera, single CD/DVD, and Android Auto.
I had to paint the trim insert panel myself to match the gold colour of the sand interior package, but I got it pretty darn close.

It's only just installed, but I'm pretty happy with the upgrade!
I noticed you have two USB power ports in the right side auxiliary port position. Quite an elegant application and use of an antiquated
        source of power. Well done.

Today I took a drive to the St. Ignace Michigan 47th annual car show (a 4 day event that started off with a cruise night). There were about 100 cars that were in the cruise night along with about three times as many that watched from the side lines. The motels were packed with cars from all eras, one would never get a room in that town. Only saw one other thunderbird a 56 that was just gorgeous (and for sale). Took the old highway back to the boarder for a change, A nice drive.

I have a dual USB power port that inserts into the 'Bird power port, but mine sticks out too far for the stock cover to fit. Some units are hard wired, but I'm not sure which ones fit flush with the dash.
              Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what brand the shop used for mine, but it was supposed to have a cap to cover it just like the stock power port.
But for whatever reason, they said that they couldn't get the cover to fit properly with my install, so no cover.
If you look closely at the right power port, you can see an indent in the dash panel at the bottom for the 'arm' that holds the cover.
Perhaps the 'arm' was too wide on the one that they put in may car.
I just had a quick glance on Amazon and a lot of the ones with covers have two 'arms' attaching the covers, so they likely wouldn't work with the cap.
Not exactly the info you were looking for, but I hope it helps with your research.

Great information. I'll definitely investigate further for a solution if there is one.
                    Thank you.

                    • Today, I walked past my Thunderbird and gave a sad sigh.
I didn't get the hardtop on in time, and now I need some warm weather for the ragtop to dry out so that I can stow it and get the hardtop on.
Hopefully we'll get one more spurt of warm weather before winter truly settles in.

                          • A couple of beautiful days here in Burlington, the bird has had it's oil changed, washed and waxed, taken for spin in the country to check out the fall colors and yesterday I put her to bed as rain and cold weather is heading our way. We had a great summer Tbirding around the area, and looking forward to next summer.

                            • Gave mine a bath, badly needed as i have not cleaned it since going to Cruising the coast. I wish there was a way we could help Fredric get a hardtop for his bird.
