All of that is completely understandable. Yesterday two guys were walking by and complimented the 007. She had just come back from an oil change. Getting ready for a little trip to the beach next weekend.

OK, how about baby moons? None available for existing car wheels (8" minimum", but there are moons available for golf carts/trailers, etc. that fit 6" wheels openings. That's great, but the T-Bird cap diameter is 5 15/16". Mmmmmmm still, might a moon baby work?
Ordered a $7 cap and ........ no joy. Too wide by just.......one of those hair measurements.
Can it be made to fit?.............
Excellent idea for a completely new project. Good luck and let us all know how things turn out.

      • Today was a beautiful Fall day here and I had some great help available to clean up my garage. They said it couldn’t be done but the 75 bird got in my garage with inches to spare. Slowly preparing for the winter.

        • Replaced the Motorcraft battery I installed in April 2019. Absolutely dead. Car would not even jump start. No charge for the replacement battery, but not
one of the activities I had planned for yesterday.

Wonder what percentage of batteries of all brands actually outlive the warranty or even come close.

Yeah, I've had three Diehard batteries die well before their warranty expired. It's probably the degradation of battery technology or materials used in the manufacture these days.

            • Gave Roadie a bath and cleaned and Wheel Waxed the 16-spokes. There's a lot of surface area on those things!

I've replaced two Motorcraft batteries after 6 to 8 years when neither were causing problems just because I didn't want to take them on a long roadtrip and have them give up the ghost in the middle of nowhere. The 3rd one went into service in 2016 so it should be good for a few more years.

In general I think most folks have gotten exceptional service from Motorcraft batteries, with some lasting a dozen years or more. I have no problem recommending them to anyone that asks about a replacement. That said, there are always exceptions to the norm - sounds like you had one.

Ford is like Sears. They don't make anything, just purchase from a supplier and stamp their name on it. I asked a Ford parts guy who makes Ford branded oil. He said that it depended on who got the last lowest bid.
Last year, Johnson Controls sold to a new company, Clarios. From what I can tell, they made batteries for many major brands and
                      Clarios will continue the tradition.

                        • Talked with my body guy today. He has a good paintless dent man coming to the shop on Wednesday. He will look at the crease in my door and see whether he can take it out. We will see.

Some stores are still open. You can check your area by using their store locator.

                            • Forgot to mention the one positive of my recent battery replacement - It forced a reunion with my Thunderbird Trunk Mat which is as good as new.. Wish I could say the same about me.

The paintless guy said it couldn’t be done so it goes in next week for an old fashioned repair.
