Thanks to Ron McCloud, may he rest in peace, I swapped out my 100,000 mile driver's seat with a new one that Ron had in his parts inventory. I gave him $300 and my old seat with a hole in the cover. By the way, he did all the work while I watched and then let me stay at his home for the night. What a great person Ron McCloud! I miss him.

      • Now that we all have our 2 Vaccines completed, we took out “Merlo” to see our son and grandson in Cincinnati! Lots of hugs and a cool pic taken by my grandson showing off the beautiful factory paint and lights of our Bird! 2F760C98-3FDB-4FFC-8C36-F1A8819422D6.jpeg

        • Nice that you were finally able to see them. Had to be a special time.

          • Took a trip down to Panama City Beach, Florida this past weekend to see the “Emerald Coast Cruzin 2021” car show. Wonderful weather and a very good show with many excellent cars to view. I noticed
with my PCR that I was getting a bit of hesitation once it was run for a while sort of the same hesitation prior to changing the COPs two years ago. I learned to cut the engine off after I noticed it and then it would behave normally. Odd though the COPs may not have more than 2000 miles of usage since replacement so anyway I ran it for close to 900 miles during the trip and the engine performed fine on the way home.

              • Made a trip to Oklahoma City for our Sooner Thunderbird Club meeting. First one we've had in awhile, so it was great to see some friends and put about 325 miles on the car. It was in the high 30s when we left, but it was 68 degrees when we headed home, so the top came down for that part of the trip.

Took this picture in a bowling alley parking lot in Chandler, OK on Route 66. They worked on this parking lot and building for well over a year. It turned out pretty cool with over a dozen old oil and gas signs throughout the parking lot. No telling how many thousands of dollars are tied up in the signage alone.

                • Yesterday was the monthly car show at Spanish Springs. This month featured Ford Thunderbirds. We met up with 14 retros and 24 Baby Birds including an F and M codes. There was an outstanding '56 without the continental spare and had a 427 mil! I met two gentlemen who knew Ron McCloud...fun day!

                  • I'll be playing with it soon. I got the tires inflated to the proper pressure. 2 days of rain and then it will be awakened from it's winter slumber.

                        • My son came over yesterday to take the Black 'Bird of the jack stands and remove the hardtop. Checked all fluids, tire pressure etc. and then took my grand daughter for a cruise. The 'Bird is running beautifully. Had put in all new COPS including boots and rubbers plus plugs (all Ford stuff) last summer. Had replaced one the previous year and then an additional 2 started acting up, so did all 8.
Shirley and I just got back from our first Pfizer shot - the next one is already scheduled for July 15th. Came within 1" of getting the front end of the Cadillac torn off by a Ready Mix cement truck. The truck was in the left turn lane with his signals on, but then decided to turn right just as I was up be side those big rear wheels. Thank god he stopped in time. Couldn't get your hand between the big tires and my front bumper. That got the heart pumping and the pressure up.
It would take more than all of this to overshadow the sunshine and warm weather we are having.

I'm assuming you meant April 15th for the second covid shot. Glad to hear it was just a close call. The sound of crunching metal is not a good one.

                            • Fired it up and drove it yesterday after inflating tires and checking oil.
First time out since last October.
I did not need to charge the battery.
Now to clean the dust off.
