If its early enough, outside, and parking isn't absurd... you could possibly have some company.

    • Mike,
Just came across this post of yours. So glad like our old Thunderbird. We are loving our 5th Retro Thunderbird we have owned in 18 years, the James Bond 007.

      • Grundy/Safelite are paying to have my cracked windshield replaced. Took it in this afternoon. The shop they contracted is a two person, husband and wife, operation at Anchor Glass in Muskogee, OK, as the nearest Safelite store is an hour plus away.

They took their time and were very mindful of doing a good job. Took about 2.5 hours start to finish. They weren't able to find an OEM windshield, so our car has one less Thunderbird emblem on it than it did a few hours ago. It also doesn't have a crack or dozens of small pits from 20 years on North America's highways and byways.

          • Sorry, Paul, that you finally had to replace yours. Our 02 still has it's first window, complete with a chip that it got 6 weeks after we bought, along with all the nicks from driving it almost 200K miles. The 05 is on it's 3rd windshield and no logo on that last one. No sense in wasting time/money trying to get a logo'd one for it anymore as it's mileage is also creeping up.

It's a stock 2 door post with a cream colored top. They said it was owned by a local body shop owner. They were cutting and installing new side glass for it. The thing I didn't like about were the fender skirts. I don't care for the look on a 57, plus the paint on them looked just ever so slightly different from the body to my eye.

Yeah, the skirts make them look longer than they really are. Best car I ever owned/drove/restored -- 2 Nomads, one 4-door sedan. 'Can't afford one these days.

                • Went to NY on 10/08/21 for my brothers birthday on 10/10. Came home Monday night about 9:30pm. Had a great time and the Bird ran great. I averaged between 28 and 30 mpg both ways. A few accidents and road construction on the way home caused some delays. I made a promise to the T-Bird she would never have to make that trip again.

                  • Hardtop installed for winter. I’m getting too old for this.

                      • Went from Argo TX, to Pittsburg TX, to Winnsboro TX, to Quitman TX, to Sulfur Springs TX, back to Winnsboro TX and back on the same route to home in Argo TX. Stopped at The Barrel House Bar and Grill, Winnsboro for lunch. If you are in NE Texas for some reason... the Barrel House burger is awesome. Celebrating my wife's B-day today in the T-bird. A great time was had by us.

                        • Lovely overcast summer day . Went for a drive around the city. Perfect day to drive around with the top down without the scorching sun on the back of your head 20220828.jpg .
