I confess, I had to go back to my checkbook to find the amount!

This week's throwback is more than meets the eye. RustyFrye reminded me of this piece of TBN history by sending me this picture, which I modified slightly to cover up the information on tag.

      20200511_234020.jpg

      1. Other than the obvious answer - what is this thing?

      2. What's the back story on this?

      3. What event was it given out at?

      4. What was the date and location of the event?
      21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

          1. Looks like a chamois to me

Sam...you’re making me crazy by saying Thunder Fever. I was there and don’t remember it. Hope that I’m not going senile.

I was one of the planners of this event and I don't remember it.

Ours too but I don’t believe that we met. Around 100 cars as I recall. I’ll never forget the visit from Barney Fife.

Sam is correct on 3 & 4. Still waiting on some memories to kick in on 1 & 2. IF we don't have them answered by race time on Sunday, maybe Doug will fill in the blanks. If not, I'll tell you what I remember and post the unaltered picture.

That was the first event we missed. We had just moved from Gainesville, GA to Nashville, TN and the timing made it impossible for us to go.
Unbelivable TBN trips including ALL of the lower 48 States plus 9 Canadian Provinces, 8 European Countries, 3 Caribbean Countries, Countless National Parks and have attended well over 100 TBN Events since 2001 and counting. Best of all ... fabulous friends.

Paul, I think #1 is a metal dash plaque, I still have mine which is a little different from the one posted. I peeled the strip of tape off the back and placed it on top of my model car show case in the garage and it is still there.

Gene and Spence, surely you remember the 100 tbirds parading down main street in Jonesboro, TN.

Yes, Sam. I also remember the speedway, drive in movie, and much more. Never got a dash plaque.

That's not the dash plaque. It's a tag.

Just adding some major clues to assist in the final hours. .....
There is more than just a back story. You may want to make a seat of the pants decision and post a response. And that applies especially to those 2002 owners.
