It was before our time but from the stories I’ve heard I know it was you and Rosetta, Bill Green and Gary and BJ. Don’t know who else. BJ was worried about what kind of people they were meeting with to travel to Florida. All of you still have your cars and sadly Gary is no longer with us and we truly miss him!!

Here's a piece that only a few folks got during Thunderbird DESTINation back in October 2002. I made these for the back window of the cars in our caravan with the color appropriate for each car. Even added the bra if I knew they were using one..

So my questions are these:

Dot is correct with all except Sally, she was not in that caravan. She came with us from Georgia.

Both were taken in the parking lot of the USS Alabama in Mobile. Bill, Gary & BJ, and Rosetta & I met up with Sally & Brenda and Dot & George at a convenience store on I-20 in Louisiana. We all then met up with Mark & Laurie and Charlie & Margaret at the USS Alabama. They had stayed in Biloxi the night before to hit the casinos. After touring the battleship we all then caravaned together to Destin.

I believe the first picture was taken as we arrived at the ship, before we met the others. The second was taken after the tour. I'm not sure why Sally & Brenda had not made it back from the ship to be in that picture.

This was our very first TBN caravan. There have been dozens since, but this one will always have a special place in our hearts. Sadly, Gary, Sally and Charlie are no longer with us. They were all so special in their own ways. Even though Tom Aglio is credited with popularizing the phrase, I had told Gary, Mark, Charlie and Bill at the hotel in Destin the first night of the event that from then on it would become more about the people than it would be the cars.

Our 7 car caravan was more than 10% of the cars at the event. In the group we had 3 Torch Reds (Green, Wisdom, Thomas), 1 Evening Black (Himes), 1 Thunderbird Blue (Lang) and 2 Whisper Whites (Cain, Ray). Bill, BJ, Dot & George, Mark & Laurie, and Rosetta & I still own our 02s. Sally sold hers before she passed and Charlie & Margaret traded theirs in on an 03 DSB, which they then traded on an 04 PCR that they sold to Tom & Louise.
