I’m feeling that way about Firestone right now. They were OE on the 300C and don’t last the way they should. I currently have two that have plenty of tread and two that should be replaced before winter. For the price of two Firestones I can get four of tires that Ric found. Is it still a bad idea to mix tires? I’m thinking of moving the good ones to the front and putting new on the rear.

I had a feeling you might be, but thank you for saying so.

mixing tires can be ok,but for safety the tires that have better grip MUST go on the rear be it the older or newer tire. even radials on back with bias on front as you would never outdrive your front tires. now if you put the grippy on the front that is hecka bad news you could "feel" the confidence in front and end up spinning out because the slipperier rear tires cant match the grip of the front
        figured I needed something here

I just put on 4 Pirelli Cinturato P7 all weathers. Quiet, ride good and go around corners great. Price more than Coopers', less than Michelins'.Between our other cars and my 73 BMW M/C I only put 1500 or so miles a year, tho I occasionally take it out in the winter. Our other 2 cars have Cooper and Continental tires. As amotorcyclist, and in many years as a mechanic, I can never make myself go for the last drop out of tires. so personally I'm not concerned with so called high milage tires. More important are other features which you may look into.
OTOH I may be watching too much F1 or MotoGP

I'm with Ron, he convinced me several years ago and I'm on my 2nd set now and love them. Far superior to any of the 5 sets of Michelins I've bought for my Tbirds over the years and the price difference is unbelievable

Checked on a set today and they have gone up $40, now $312 for four. Fortunately I can wait, Coopers are only six years old.
