I’m feeling that way about Firestone right now. They were OE on the 300C and don’t last the way they should. I currently have two that have plenty of tread and two that should be replaced before winter. For the price of two Firestones I can get four of tires that Ric found. Is it still a bad idea to mix tires? I’m thinking of moving the good ones to the front and putting new on the rear.

Our other 2 cars have Cooper and Continental tires. As amotorcyclist, and in many years as a mechanic, I can never make myself go for the last drop out of tires. so personally I'm not concerned with so called high milage tires. More important are other features which you may look into.
OTOH I may be watching too much F1 or MotoGP
