Still the 2002 also does have a check fuel cap light. states in in manual page 9
does not necessarily mean that a loose cap could not cause engine light.I would guess both could come on
as for the original poster I fill mine past the "click" as far as I can and have never had an issue in my bird or any other vehicle I have ever had.although I admit I have spilled beforefigured I needed something here
