  • Plastic Headlight Restoration

My headlight plastic covers have fine scratches from a buffer a body shop technicians negligence. Looking for suggestions of a procedure to restore to close to original original condition. Thanks!

I used Meguiar's Headlight Restoration Kit. Made my 02 lenses look like new.

I'm throwing this in for the sake of comparison. Others have their favorites that they're happy with, and will chime in. Whatever you choose to do, best of luck, and let us know how it worked out.

Yes, and they give you everything you need except for an electric drill, which most folks have already.

Did this just happen? If yes, take it up with the owner of the shop and see if he’ll make things right.

I agree with 007, Gene. First you should address this with the shop that caused the scratches. They may step up & take care of this. Result being customer satisfaction.
Give it a try, nothing to lose by asking.

Depending on driving conditions and amount, those restoration do-hickeys will get you a year before the polycarbonate headlights start hazing again.
I just bought new covers for about $60/each, partly because some Bubba had broken the mounting tabs off both originals..
