  • NEED help/advice on suspension components

Hi , my 2004 needs in order to pass MD safety inspection, >> 2 rear outer tie rods ( an easy on the pocket part )

    >>Right rear lower control arm >>> mucho dinero

    >>Left front lower control arm >>> lots of cabage

    Both have one bad bushing

Is the 2004 not compatible with the 02 03 rear and front suspension parts ?

Can the bushing be replace ?

    INFO is greatly appreciated :)

If you use Rock Auto as a guide you will see that there is a cutoff date for lower control arms around November 2002. After that build date they are all the same for the control arms. The lowers rear are not that expensive at just over $100.00 if you can install them yourself it’s a bargain. Lower arms are bulkier and tend to cost more than all four upper control arms. Though I wouldn’t do it, there is the option of locating a 2003/2004 Lincoln LS and scavenging a used arm But the chance is that it too would be bad for your state. But maybe you get lucky.

Tie rod ends are not bad but do get a better quality one as there is a difference in metal quality. Few years back I purchased one on the cheap and within a few months it was shot. So I ended getting a more expensive one to replace and the difference in quality and girth of the new rod was noticeable.

    Maryland inspections are rough!

Also look at CARiD.com for parts, I see they have bushings.
