Hi everyone. We recently brought home a 2004 and am considering LED lights. As this post was started in 2020, I just wanted to check that these were still a good recommendation and that people who’ve installed them several years ago are still happy with them. Also, I haven’t looked at our lights yet - is there a separate bulb for low vs hi beam ? If so, is there a recommended LED for the hi beam ? Thanks

It's a little confusing, John, since this has come up before, but here's a parallel link that should give you some answers:

This is a superb source of information about the birds, as are the various sub-forums on TBN:

I installed these almost 4 years ago now and I am still satisfied with them. They have been trouble free from my perspective and they appear to still be available. That does not mean that some better alternative has not appeared in the meantime. I honestly haven't looked.

One thing to keep in mind is that these are specifically designed to replace halogens, so they should be safe to use around other drivers. I have had no indication that oncoming drivers are experiencing any problems with my headlights. I tried a couple of other replacements and it was not so much that they were too bright (though they were *very* bright) but that they were difficult to aim properly and there was a lot of light "scatter." I thought they would be unsafe, though I'm no expert.

        Two things:

        - These bulbs are both low and high beam. This would be true of any replacement bulb for the primary headlights. That's the way the car is designed.

        - You should do an aiming check after *any* change to the headlights. It's quite easy. The directions are on p. 29 of my 2004 owner's manual. If you don't have access to the owner's manual, I can send you the instructions.

        I hope this is helpful.
