Got gas yesterday morning and on the drive home I noticed the little yellow "skull and crossbones" engine light glowing. Damn!!! I have to take it to a mechanic....then I remembered the gas cap issue that could cause the warning and further remembered that I struggled a bit to have the lettering on the gas cap land horizontally....I couldn't. I checked the gas cap and found that it wasn"t snapped secure....dumb me. The cap even says that the check engine light may illuminate if the cap wasn't fully secure. The light stayed on during the 20 minute drive home and wouldn't go out with a key out and in restart. Then the other light ..in my head...went on. It takes some time for all the electronics (there to help us).to reboot 24 hours later everything is settled down and happy...no bad lights. So I guess it's a reminder not only for me but for anyone who would take a silly thing like an incorrectly fastened gas cap to be aware. That's why they are called idiot lights. Mitch E
