  • CD Changer Change

    Greetings Fellow Members,
I've got the "CD ERROR" on my '03 head unit and I'm thinking to just replace it with a more "modern" system. I know many of you have done the switch, but I'm wondering if I can "customize" it for my "needs", whiich are pretty "old fashioned".
I don't have a "smart phone" so I think I want a unit that has cd, gps, backup camera capability (double din).
I love the capability of the factory unit, and know I could pull it and repair it, but if I'm going to pull it out anyway, why not put something with these other features back in.
I'd even buy a "used" unit, if someone was looking to "upgrade" their aftermarket unit.
Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

I think you’ll be lucky to find one that will play CDs. I hope I’m wrong about that. Remember that the GPS will need periodic updates to remain current and it’s not cheap. I use a smart phone (maps constantly updated for free) and I can stream music from the phone to the FM radio by subscription to Amazon Music. This allows me to listen to nearly everything that exists. Good luck with your search. Let us know what you decide upon.

The CD "error" may be able to be fixed -or not..., here are some links that may be useful for your efforts, at least in the sense of removal. Let us know how things work out.
