  • Windscreen for Retro Birds

Occasionally I have seen pictures of a retro bird sporting a windscreen mounted behind the seats.Does anyone on the forum use one and how well does it work? My wife is always complaining about "too much wind" when I put the top down and I think it is the back draft she is complaining about. Comments please. ( and I agree, leave the top down and the complaints behind!)

Roll your window up and leave hers down. You'll get the wind and she won't. Works the other way around too. or just leave both windows up and the top down. That helps some what.

Thanks Dot. That is what we do now. It just seems strange to riding with the top down and the windows rolled up! But I must admit i have also been known to ride with the top down and the a/c on during the hot summer days. I may try a windscreen if I can locate one.

Billy you mentioned top down & a/c on during hot days. We also do that as well as the heat on with the top down on cold sunny days in early April or late October.

I don't have this, but have ridden with someone who did. Worked well and appears to be an easy installation.

this is the exact one we have and once set up it comes on and off in a minute or two and combined with windows up is quite comfortable.

Anna dont ride with me in the bird because the one and only time she joined me right after the first inspection she had to push when I couldent get the bird in reverse right in a corner.
Will make a try to get her back in the car this year
I Started out with nothing and I still got most of it left

Thanks for posting the picture Kieth. That is the same type windscreen I am writing about. Where did you buy it and how much do they cost? If another forum member has one they want to part with, I am interested for a reasonable price.

I found one on Amazon by a company called WindBlox. The windscreen is made of a solid sheet of lexon. Anyone had any experience with this one?

Good to see things come around full circle. Way, way back - when I bought Merlot - I searched high and low, far and wide for a wind screen and came up with nothing. I decided to go without and have not regretted it. Everyone that has one and is happy, I'm happy for you. Everyone that is looking, I hope for your success. Everyone that let's the wind blow through your hair, I wish I had hair to join you. Enjoy your Birds, one and all.
