Just a note: After getting all kinds of information from five different shops, I took the car to where I should have gone in the first place, Discount Tires. I spoke to them about buying a set of new wheels but they suggested they look first at the problem. They took the car and fifteen or so minutes came back and said there was no leak anywhere and not a speck of chrome damage on the wheel. The guy said he never saw rust or chrome damage on an Arizona car. So, no charge for checking and a lost sale of four wheels. I know who it was who told me about the rust damage and I won't be going back there again. It seems resetting the tires was all it took to fix the slow leak.

If you're looking for custom wheels, might I suggest tirerack.com?
Enter the year and make of your car, choose a color, then see what various wheels would like like on your car.
That's how I selected the black wheels on mine. IMG_0433 (2).JPG

Speaking of Lincoln LS wheels.....(don't mean to hijack the thread, but......).
I thought I had a great idea for a Thunderbird hub cap using a Lincoln LS cap. It seemed to fit on the 21-spoke 'Bird wheel, but it never "snap" into place--Toulouse.
I had already been plotting to custom make a replacement domed decal to replace the Lincoln emblem, but that was before I tried to attach it to my wheel.
The tabs on the two caps match exactly, but the wire that holds them in are a different configuration.
Do I conclude that the caps are not/never interchangeable or is there a genius out there that has already come with a solution?

For me, instead of investing in new wheels or having my leaking 21 spoke wheel rechromed, is to install an inner tube in the offending tire.
They still make inner tubes, don't they?

I think that will work as long as the duck's head is facing forward..

I think repairing a wheel or buying a replacement sounds like a better plan.

Yes, I found one on eBay $20 plus shipping. Well worth the fix price.
