A Benchmark Retro Thunderbird Anniversary

It is hard to believe, but 20 years ago today, September 28, 2001, we took delivery of FUNBIRD, our 2002 Torch Red Thunderbird. It has been a great ride, literally and figuratively. It was the first retro Bird delivered by Plaza Ford, and the only one in our area for months. It has been the catalysts for making many new friends and some great travelling adventures. Unfortunately there was one very major negative setback during this time in that my wife Lelia was only able to enjoy the car for 15 months until current medical science at the time could not prevent her passing on. Her memory, and the memory of the good times we had because of the car live on, however. It is still a great ride and I enjoy every minute behind the wheel. Heck, I enjoy just looking at it. And even washing and detailing it. I hope the car and the memories will live on in perpetuity with my family. I don't think that is going to be a problem.

Twenty (20) years ago today, October 9th we took delivery of our Inspiration Yellow 2002 Thunderbird.
