  • chrome rocker panels

I'm thinking of installing chrome (stainless steel?) rocker panels on my 2005 cashmere T-Bird, the type of panels that go below the doors. But I'm wondering if they would make the body look stockier. If you have these on your T-Bird, what do you think?

Any pictures of these installed, especially on a cashmere?

    Thanks!

With the ones I've seen the thing I don't like is they are 2 piece

Yes, but installed properly it’s very hard to see. At one point someone offered it in one piece. I don’t recall the vendor. Here’s the two piece on my car.

Doc, I don't get it. Many times you have asked the members here on TBN if they like or would they instal a certain piece on their 02-05 T-Bird.
My questions to you is this, do You, Doc, like the item? Its your car. Will it please you? Whether it pleases any of us is unimportant.

You will get many opinions but all that truly matters is how YOU feel about the change.
And this should be considered for all the ideas you have for your Retro T-Bird. It is your car. The added change is something you will see everytime you look at or use the car. Not us, but YOU.
Enjoy each moment that's why you purchased the Bird.
          Mike

I understand what you're saying, Mike, and know that you're right about my having to like whatever changes I make. I just like to have as many opinions about ideas to help me make my decisions. For example, if I ask about a product and a lot of responses warn of certain problems with that product, I can get a better idea of what to do.

Of course, I will take your advice and make my decisions based on what I like, so thanks for that.

As far as asking questions, I believe that not asking questions would be a mistake. There are a lot of very experienced car people on this site who are always willing to share their expertise. That's what I like about the site. It's a combination of Thunderbird lovers discussing all sorts of topics and a very interesting place to explore off topic issues as well.

I completely agree, Doc, there are no silly questions.

Doc, I certainly did not want to imply that you are asking silly or unimportant questions.
I was trying to say that no matter the response, for instace, if many said yes do it and the change still doesn't appeal to you 100% would you do it? Or conversely if many said no that the change you had in mind didn't appeal to them but you loved the idea, would you do it?
Just saying its yours to enjoy not the others.

You are correct to solicit opinions & ideas. That's how we all learn and there is no place other than this site TBN that has the expertise and opinions to give you insight, knowledge and quality info about Thunderbirds, other vehicles and whatever crosses one's mind.

Its folks like you Doc that make TBN a most enjoyable on site place to visit & participate.
                  Mike

I have had the two piece on my car since 2004 and like others have stated it is hard to see the seam. They are not hard to install and mine have never come loose. Hope this helps. Pat

Very nice. I am thinking about this. Are the chrome rocker panels still available?

I have no connection with this seller, or product. Perhaps this Ebay link will help.
