  • Strange Window Drop

My window drop feature only works when the car is running. I’ve reset it several times using the procedure from the manual but the problem persists. Has anyone else encountered this situation?

Sounds strange, is there good power in the battery?
thinking of if its below 12v and when the motor is running there is 14v

That’s a good thought. I’ll have to get it checked.

Just remove pluscable and measure with multimeter

Got it. I just need to borrow a meter from my friend.

Mine works consistently when closing the doors with the top up and engine off.
Maybe disconnect the battery for 10 minutes or so, reconnect and re-calibrate the short-drop system.

I’ll give that a shot if the battery tests good.

Gene: You are able to start your car, so battery can't be too bad . Assuming the window is all the way up, the window should drop when opening the door and raise when closing the door with no key in the ignition . Just did my 007 and , like yours that is how it should work . Is the passenger door the same ? Hope this helps .

I was thinking that as well, Martin. The car starts strong. I haven’t tried the passenger door. I’ll check it later today. We’ve seen these cars do odd things when the battery starts to go so I wouldn’t rule it out just yet.

I think it’s safe to rule out the battery. Today the window is completely dead whether the motor is running or not. Time to dig into the door.

I've had that issue quite a few times on multiple retros. It's always been a low battery or after reconnecting the battery and not calibrating

The window completely stopped working? It’s not even making a noise.
