I used to visit the European Harley Bike Week every first week in September. That is why we could never attend the "Corvettes at Carlisle" in Pennsylvania end of August.
Now you should know that I have a Fat Boy and my 007 TBird and a C3 Corvette. Life is too short to drive just one car.
(forgot to mention my 2006 Mustang)
In 2019 we decided to stop joining the Harley Events and planned to visit the Corvettes at Carlisle in 2020. A virus destroyed the plan. Also for 2021. And also somehow for 2022.
2023 is the year when dreams come true. I have booked a flight to Baltimore on August 23rd. Wanted to ask Cal if he is also in this area. That is why I logged into the TBN after
a very long time.
Then I noticed that there is that big Thunderbird Reunion next week. I am now thinking about cancelling my Carlisle plans and drive from Baltimore directly to Michigan.........
Both events is not possible I think.
You should change and come to Dearborn! It would be great to meet you. I was thinking about you the other day, because it has been awhile since you've posted some of your great pictures of your travels and diecasts.
21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !
Yes it is Mainhard, I went to the 55th Thunderbird reunion in 2010 when my Tbird was 5 years old. there will be many of the Baby Birds 1955-1957, Square Birds 1958-1960, Bullet Birds 1961-1963 and Flair Birds from 1964-1966. After that came the 4 door models and the coupes, no more convertibles until ours.
If you can fly into Chicago I can give you a ride to the reunion Wednesday
Oh, Bob, thank you very much for this.
I have checked again my options but unfortunately when I booked the flight I had chosen the cheapest option excluding any kind of reversal or change.
And i have another problem now, when I booked a rental car today I was told that the rental company would need my Credit Card with PIN. I usually pay with my Bank Card,
not with my Credit Card. To be honest, I do not know the PIN number, and don't have it written down somewhere.......
Seems that I have to buy a bicycle in Baltimore to be mobil
Well all packed up and ready to roll out on a five hour drive. Very heavy rain here all night and pouring right now too, hopefully by the time I cross the Mackinaw into the lower peninsula it will let up somewhat.
Everyone drive safe and watch out for the other guy.
Made it home safely from Dearborn. It was great to see all my TBN friends and to meet new friends as well. It was another great event and a good time all around.
We’re going from Sarasota, but are having the car transported to our daughter’s home in the Chicago area and then will drive to Detroit and drive home from Dearborn. Looking forward to this event. Recalling the 60th celebration in Dearborn in June of 2015 and Ron McCloud’s best efforts for the car show on Saturday at The Glass House that got rained out with torrential storms!!
Steve, I didn't know that your Daughter lived in the Chicago Area. Barb and I were just there for my brother-in-law's funeral and both our daughters flew in for the service. Barb and I grew up there, and we lived in Burr Ridge up until 1989 when we moved to Charleston, SC.
