The world has moved on from the membership models that CTCI and VTCI use. The International Thunderbird Club is mostly just a Facebook page. Very few of the "members" pay to join it I would guess.
The world has moved on to social media such as Facebook. A lof of our old members here on TBN are still around; just on various Facebook forums now.

What resources can CTCI offer to groups like TBN that would make joining CTCI worthwhile? If there is an upside to membership with them, I don't see it. It would be silly to pay fancy dues to a faltering club that views 2002-2005 Thunderbirds as "second-class citizens", and weren't at all welcoming, lo these many years.

That said, I'm happy for you Greg that you have found a local club you like and participate with. Likely, y'all need CTCI a lot less than they need you. We belong to a VTCI chapter based out of the Oklahoma City Area. We definitely don't make 300+ mile round trips to club meetings because of VTCI (we are not members), we do it because of our local club member friends.21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

Just so it is known, the VTCI has always welcomed the baby birds under its wing, as also any Retro birds. The CTCI "had" a closed book action, but started to realise that the membership was shrinking, and needed other support.
A vote was held a few years back and bringing in the Retro birds, and was voted down. Now with shrinking membership the Retro's were welcomed.
The ITC is an off shoot of the VTCI of about 20 years ago. Different club actions, and different goals.
