  • Problems in my red 2005 Tbird with the steering/power steering.going very hard.

    Hi everybody!
I have a 2005 red tbird I bought 2007 when in Holidays in Miami. I live in Barcelona (Catalonia), taking part of Spain.

There are not many Tbirds by here ! Now I have a technical problem: the power steering goes very hard, I brought my car to a Ford dealer. They have changed all possible parts of the steering and the power steering. Result of changing so many parts: the power steering continues as hard as it was before.goimg to Ford. So the problem is still there. Any suggestion ?
I thank you very much. I have to say that I am a litle bit desperate..

Sorry to hear of your sick Bird, Joan. I suspect you have a problem with your Front Electronic Module, or FEM. The best fix is to have it rebuilt. Brad? Any way to help our Spanish Bird Lover?

I’m also thinking about the FEM. Did the dealer say anything about that? Unfortunately the dealer is often the last place to get these cars repaired.

If it is the FEM, Joan, is there a place you can have it repaired, or will you be faced with sending it to the US?

          Hey Joan,

Good to hear from you. It has been a long time since our T-Bird event in Munster, France, in 2010. Sorry to hear you are having problems with your T-Bird.

I agree with the other posts above. It probably is the FEM.

The FEM is located on the lower left panel under the dashboard (by your left leg when driving). There are articles on TBN that show how to access the FEM and remove it, so you can send it for repair.

Brad, here on TBN, has someone who can repair the FEM, if you can send it to him. Check out his website: www.TbirdBob.com
