Ford recommends using Motorcraft 5w20 synthetic blend and I have done so without any issues. I also know many owners have used a full synthetic, such as Mobil One, without a problem. I am just hesitant to change to a full synthetic after all these years using the blended oil. Regardless, I am a advocate of changing the oil and filter every 3,000 miles.

I've used the Motorcraft 5w20 Synthetic Blend and Motorcraft filter every 5K miles or 1 yr whichever came first for 22+ years and 183K miles. I'll do the same for the next 22 years.

Here’s hoping that we’re all here for another 22 years. I don’t think I will.

Probably not Gene, but I like the way Paul thinks. I might have to leave a note on the driver's seat for the next lucky owner, 10 or 15 years down the road I hope.

”Here’s hoping that we’re all here for another 22 years. I don’t think I will.”

Guy was interviewed on the Today Show for his 100th birthday..

              Q. “What’s your secret?”

A “I just keep having birthdays!”

That’s my plan. Keep having birthdays, y”all

In spite of the longer change intervals with synthetic, I've always kept changes at the 3 month, 3 thousand miles. It may not be necessary, but it doesn't hurt.

As to how long, Bob's "just keep having birthdays", seems like sage advice to follow!
