  • Dash warning light

Cannot seem to locate this warning signal anywhere. Has anyone seen this and if so, what is it and how to repair?

Think that's traction control. Is it turned on or off ?

If not mistaken (my eyes are unable to see detail these days) this looks like the warning light I got when the alternator was about to die.

Pretty sure that is the " traction control" light indication that it is turn off or not working, often caused by a failed wheel sensor located on the front left wheel housing.

See the manual... I am not sure if it could be done by self help.

It looks like it might be a TCL Transcontinental Comet Looming warning icon. That was a rare option.

Most likely the wheel sensor mentioned by Billy. If it isn’t that, try placing a small piece of black electrical tape over the light. That usually takes care of these problems.

Guys... It's the "replace the gas cap" light. If you replace the gas cap and it stays on you have a vacuum leak in the evap system somewhere.

Try that 10 dollar fix and write me back if you need more help.

You’re probably right but it sure does look like a wheel. Hey, I was wrong once before.

Yea it does seem that way "like a wheel". Some of these idiot lights are really confusing. We call em that because ya just can't tell what they mean by looking at them.

The reason I know is I forgot to put my gas cap on after fueling and that particular light came on. I stopped and walked around the car only to notice the cap hanging down on the side of the car. Tightened the cap up and Viola. No more light.

                    Strange but true...

...things that make you go Hummmmm.

Also I never fill it all the way up as fuel tends to get into the evap system and eat lines and other components up causing a gas smell and sometimes even a engine light.

This thing has the slowest engine light notification I've ever seen. Had a miss and had to wait for almost 100 miles to know the cylinder it was missing on!

Finally the light came on and the reader said "miss in cylinder number #" (I forget which one it was it's been so long ago).

A strange breed of bird indeed. :-)

If not an asteroid warning ;-) this is the traction control warning icon.

The gas cap gasket leak will trigger an engine icon.
