  • Stock radio clock is not even right twice a day?

My clock is fast, so fast that after 24 hours it is way ahead of the actual time. Never before have I had a radio clock that didn't keep time.

Any way to turn it off so it just goes away? Thinkin about finding and snipping the wire but then my radio stations would have to be reprogrammed every time I turn the key on.

The radio sounds and works great with no shorts or scratching and seems to work perfectly other than the clock.

    Anyone else have this problem?

Would be a great excuse to be late except for the fact I would be several hours early to work after only a few days.

    Just bazar...

...My clock radio is so broken it is not even right twice a day :-)

Wow I haven’t heard of that one. Maybe someone has a radio to get rid of or you could switch to a more modern unit. Does it play correctly? Everything else working? Could it be the clock spring in the steering wheel? Might be time to block it off with some black electrical tape.

Yep sounds great (0 radio probs) and if you are as old as I am then you know the pains of getting a good sounding stereo in a older car.

No need to replace it but either need to find out how to simply turn the clock off or find out why it's doing the fast clock twilight zone thing...

I wonder if it is hooked to the PCM or other such crap as I can't find a tuner for the 2002.

The clock was always fast so us trying to get into the computer didn't do it.

So maybe the cure is to find someone that can get into the pcm on this thing.

Every time we try to tune the PCM it sets off the pats (assive antitheft system) and disables the car.

This one is a strange bird indeed...

Recon it's some kinda secret computer on the 2002?

Replaced the clockspring over 3 years ago along with brakes, rotors, suspension, plugs, coils and all the other usual problems...

The clock was fast then and is fast now. Been ignoring it but getting tired of passengers asking about it.

If I could just turn the darn thing off it would be fixed as far as I'm concerned.

I'm betting that the flux capacitor needs recalibrating.

Have tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting? I have no idea if it would make a difference, but it couldn't hurt.

If all else fails, cover it with black electrical tape.

Yea i reset my computer all the time while doing the mods like the borla, high flow cats, cold air intake etc..

Also while replacing the clockspring and doing other electrical repairs.

Not to mention having to disconect the battery after trying to tune it with a tuner (several different brands) as they all tripped the pats system before even downloading the stock tune and disabled the car.

Clock has been this way since I got the car.

                    Bizarre huh...

I'm guessing its IN the radio unit. Which means it might be as simple as 1. remove radio. 2. Open up radio and see if you can Isolate the time part or the display. If you can, 3. cut the wire. If you can't then swap out the radio for a used one or send it to a repair shop.

                        Thanks for the advice...

Thinkin that I can unclip the radio but was asking if it was connected to the PCM...
