I need to replace my headlamps but want input on options. I want brighter light than the standard halogen lights.

I had tried LED headlights, Steve, and while it was truly a plug and play install, I think it's best said that I very shortly went back to freshly cleaned headlights, and Silverstar Ultras.
Good luck, and let us know what you decide upon.Last edited by merlot4; Mar 22, 2025, 03:30 PM.Life without passion is no life at all.

I cleaned the clear front covers, Steve, although the ideal thing would be new ones. If your headlight covers are cloudy, it can definitely improve things a bit; if it's helpful, the cleaner I used was by Sylvania. For the brief time I had the LEDs in, the difference was remarkable, but they were ultimately unreliable, not lasting very long. Our cars are a product of their time, the reflectors were designed for the older style bulbs, so if you try the LEDs, be careful to aim them so they don't blind oncoming traffic. Perhaps a more recent LED set might work better, YMMV.Life without passion is no life at all.

I put in LEDs and they made a huge difference. As stated above, you will need to lower the beam a lot.Unbelivable TBN trips including ALL of the lower 48 States plus 9Canadian Provinces, 8 European Countries, 3 Caribbean Countries, Countless National Parks and have attended well over 100 TBN Events since 2001 and counting. Best of all ... fabulous friends.
