  • Re: Thunderbird Borla Club Members

Hi everyone, want to put Borlas on my 05 t-bird but 2 dealers I called from the Borla web sight tell me they don't have them for the 05.??? I know
some of you have them. I live in Pelham NH, right on the NH & Mass state line.
Does anyone know where I can get this done?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks george for the info. Does that mean I have to do the installation myself??

          Len:
You install, only if you want to. However, there is a shop in Lowell that does a lot of Custom, Hot Rod, Antique and Specialty exhaust systems. I'm sure that they would do it for you.
The father of the owner is in our Early Ford V8 Club, so if you get a system and want me to find out, I could look them up for you.
Others here, I believe, have just gone to local muffler shops and had the installs done for around $60-70.

I had the unfortunate experience (unfortunate for me because of the $$ it's gonna cost me) of tooling around Jackson MS behind redbirdsal and SixPac and having to listen to their Borlas. I couldn't hear the sweet purr of my own little black bird. Can anyone detect the note of extreme jealousy on my part??? I GOTTA save up the cash for a set of those!!!

              Hi Len,

I just put Borlas on my '05 Steel Blue. Though Borla does not list it as available for '05, the '04 Borlas fit perfectly. As for installation; If you're handy at all and have some basic tools (plus a Jack and Jack stands) it shouldn't take more than two hours to change over. Any decent shop should be able to install them if you prefer. Good luck. It is definately worth it.

Mine sounds as good as it looks now!

                • The BROWN Truck has arrived! We have Lift-Off, Houston!

The Borlas showed up here at 2:56 PM PDT when the Brown Truck drove up.

We already have an appointment to have them installed at 9:00 AM Saturday morning, July 1. By Noon Saturday, "Blackie" will be sounding GREAT! Best donation I ever made, Paul and Julie!

You must promise us one thing Sugar Babe and Daddy, Once you have the Borlas on you will not run around the house at nite yelling Vrooooooooooom
Vroooooooooom. The neighbors will not like this and may not understand your strange ways. Oh I forgot you live in California where everything is accepted. Maybe you could have a Vrooooooom Vroooooom party and the neighbors will all join you. Enjoy them you crazy couple. Lou

One other thing to remember. Don't just put them on and forget about them. Your Borlas will be very unhappy if you don't keep their tips clean. That means not only the outside of them but the inside too. If you allow your Borlas to become dirty on the inside you will be throwing away horse power. A Clean set of Borlas are a Happy set of Borlas!!!

                        Lou,
How did you guess??? Now you ruined the surprise!!! By this time tomorrow, we will be members of the Borla group. It took us (me, Sugardaddy has been wanting them),a few years to make the decision. After I drove Vicki's at the 5 and Diner, I was hooked!! I am just slow about changing things on MY car!! Ever time we go to a functioin, we come home and spend money!! It is all in great fun. The T-Bird has been the best purchase!! What fun we are having with it!!
Capt Ken, have Brenda drive a T-Bird with the Borla's on, she'll me hooked!!!

                        Life IS good!!!!

Installed Borlas myself this week on my 05 Bronze Beauty. Liscense plate reads "Thhndr", now the sound is a match!

Had mine installed today at a custom muffler shop - The owner said it was the nicest install he's had. Everything fit perfectly where it should and he did it in no time.

George, did you keep your old mufflers? After stepping over, walking around, and/or tripping on my old mufflers I decided today to get rid of them after 2 1/2 years. Tomorrow they go to the scrap yard.
