Just to clarify things about my K&N CAI experience. There was nothing wrong with the system. My feelings were; #1, I didn't care for the non factory look, I prefer the all black look and #2, it made the Borlas way too loud for my personal taste. That's all there is to it. I used a K&N replacement filter in the stock intake system instead and I'm happy with the compromise. Different strokes for different folks, that's all.

If you got the Borla's you gotta get the K & N ?
It only gets loud when you really nail it! Not offensive more like the old 4 barrel V8's with out an air cleaner. The sound of sucking air. Normal driving just a little throaty. I was really not happy with the Borla's for the expense until I added the K &N. then sweeeet!!! The sound just keeps getting better over the next 4/500 miles as the MAFS adjusts.
        A little side story.
I dropped my granddaughter at school today and had to go in to talk to her teacher. One of the mothers came up as I was talking to her teacher and said to me " I was trying to get you to race me this morning" she then told the teacher "he has the coolest car A V8 Tbird that has the coolest sounding motor, it sounds so powerful"
I'm not worried about the non stock under the hood. I'll be keeping my original parts up on the shelf if I ever long for the past. Thanks for the info.

Julie: I just had the Borlas installed. I have a question --- probably dumb one.. Exhausts smell a little ( perhaps burning in) - I noticed the front edge of the front muffler assebmly touches the front of the heat shield. Am I being too picky?
            Thanks

Hi Julie, hope I am at the right spot. I want to order the Bolas for my red 2002. Are they still available, and is there a code I need to give if discount is still available?

              Thanks,

Can I assume that the 2004 Typhoon K&N CAI will work on the 2005 as well? There is no listed 2005 version.

                    Hi Julie,

I just got my Borlas last week (after waiting for almost a month) They were backordered from Borla. I installed them the next day. It was much easier than I had expected. It only took about an hour and a half. Man was it worth it. They are never coming off my 2005. Thanks to all who recommended them. They're great, great, great.

Just found this thread. I've had the Borlas on my black 2002 since late '02 or early '03. A mind is a terrible thing to lose. I bought them from a member, can't remember who, who had purchased them for his '03 and found that they would not fit. I wanted the Bird to sound like it had a V8 in it but did not want it to sould like a hot rod, they filled the bill perfectly.

The heat shield is very flexible and I would bend it out of the way. I think it would be best to do this, if for nothing else to eliminate a possible source of vibration.

You can add me to the list - 03 Black. Bought new, now with 2K. Added borla right away, but kind of disappointed in the idle sound. My '57 Coral Sand sounds better with factory pipes than the new one with the borla.
