Many of us enjoy our Borlas. We don't think that we've wasted our money. If you are happy with your system, that's fine, you don't have to be so negative about ours.

Speaking of which - what's the status of Borla's new plant? I'm anxiously waiting and would like to have them before 'top down' season. It sure isn't today, brrrrrrrr!

To each his’ or her’s own. I have made no bones about my bias for Corsa over Borla (or any other cat back system) for numerous reasons the biggest being performance and the second being sound. However, Corsa has made a business decision not to make a cat back for the 02-05 Thunderbird so Borla is the only game in town.

There is a lot of science and engineering regarding exhaust systems and what Borla brings to the table for our cars is a better flowing exhaust by using low restriction resonators and mufflers, mandrel formed tubing, and larger diameter tubing. Cutting the mufflers out and replacing them with pipe machine bent stock size tubing will result in a more aggressive sound but contribute little, if anything, to performance gains – a proven fact, although modest, based on before and after dyno runs.

Utopia would be headers, performance cats, and 2.5” mandrel formed tubing from header collectors to tips but, that would really be cost prohibited.

Where do I find the application for membership in the Borla Club? It's official, they are installed along with the CAI and acquisition of a 4 yr/48K ESP. The Bird sounds great already and performs much better. What a day!

Spence, I just checked your list, and realized I missed getting on it. Guess I was thinking it was the same as Julie had started a few years ago. My bad for not checking. Anyway, I've had my Borlas for at least two years (or longer), along with a K&N CAI, and absolutely LOVE the sound. They are one of the best mods I've made to my T-Bird, and really give it a classy sound. Well worth the investment! My apologies for the late recognition.

Sumerbird, An alternative to the Borla system is the no name system I have on my car. The resenators are removed and a straight piece of is put in they're place. You can use your stock exhaust tips too. Any reputable muffler shop can do it while you wait for a fraction of the Borla price. And the sound is great. Send me a PM with an Email address and I can send you pictures. Leroy

Contact Julie (Borla Babe), she helped most of us get Borlas.

While I'm a big fan of Borla's and have had them on many cars, including the Corvette I have now, I've resisted putting them on my bird because I enjoy the nice quiet ride I get while driving it. It's been my experience that driving a car with Borla's or any other similar system would get "old" fast if you were using it as a daily driver. Otherwise, Borla's have great quality and design. I love them, just not on my Bird.

Ron, firstly a belated welcome to TBN - great bunch of people here. I live up in Ottawa and I bought my Borla system last year and couldn't be happier with it. But my prevailing motto is that everyone has their own taste, and I will respectively leave it at that. You asked about Borla advice, so here it comes.....

As already mentioned, see if Julie (aka BorlaBabe) can help you - she gave me great advice. What advice I can give you is that if you do decide to buy a Borla, buy it through a US supplier, have them ship it to your closest US town, and then do a road trip to pick it up, and then you become your own "broker" at the Canadian border - also be sure your invoice says "Made in USA" to save on duty costs as a result of our current free trade agreements. Believe me, you are saving a ton of money - when I priced the Borlas in Ottawa last year, the best price was what you quoted - even though our Canadian "loonie" is weakening against the US dollar, you will still save money in my opinion. E-mail or PM me if you would like more info.

By the way, check the upcoming TBN events on the home page - a great all-Ford show is coming up in Ottawa on May 9 - great to see you there - convoys are being organized !!! Cheers....Mark
