Could this be a computer problem? The door ajar started about 6 mo ago, the locks sometimes will not work with the remote or the door panel switch, now my wife reports the engine jumps and hesitates on uphills. 2002 T Bird Blue, 54000 miles. Any ideas?

Re: Door Ajar, No power locks, jumpy on hills
Try this solution first - unhook the battery and let it sit for a least 15 minutes - to give the computer a chance to reset. Then hook battery up and see if problems clear. If not, it probably needs more expert advice than that.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

No - Absolutely not - The worst thing that may happen is that you might lose your preset radio stations. This is a trick that has always been used since computers were installed on cars - same thing with a home computer - when having unknown problems, just shut down, then, pull plug from wall, wait about 10 minutes, then power back up and you would be surprised how this will correct things.............

I believe it fixed the door ajar and power lock problem, still sparse skipping at red lights. I'll try to replace fuel filter, cheapest parts first. Can anyone tell me where the fuel filter is located?

not sure where the fuel filter is located?
"sparse skipping?"
the jumping and hesitating on uphills may mean you need to check the c.o.p.s, (coil on plugs) - there are 8 - one or two may have water in them and have shorted out and need replacing.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

Dot, the fuel filter location was checked out by George. It's accessible with the removal of the driver wheel.
Terry, replacement of the fuel filter is recommended at the 30,000 mi. maintenance.
Do you have an extended warranty? If the problem is the c.o.p, you're going to need it.Last edited by redbirdsal; May 12, 2006, 08:30 AM.

It was on the phone. I was "p---ed" cuz the tech had taken off my driver wheel to change it. During our conversation George looked at one of your Birds, and confirmed the wheel would have to be removed to access the fuel filter. The time frame was right before Hot Springs III, this year.

My door locks click when I push the button, but don't unlock. I figured I needed to tear apart the door panels and find and replace the accuater.
Might try this first.
